CSM China plant established - 2010
CSM opens a new factory in China to serve the local market and move from a simple rep office to an established legal entity. Another relevant step would follow few years later with the establishment of an extended footprint though the Chinese market.

Marguerite Croquant - 2006
As pioneer in the design of ingredients, Marguerite continue to reinvent itself respecting patisserie founding principle: the careful selection of precious high quality ingredients. The most iconic Marguerite product is Croquant, a crunchy paste based on milk or white chocolate with crunchy inclusions. Marguerite launched the first Croquant in 2016 (Praline Croquant) and it became immediately a great success; since then, the range has been extended to 10 flavours and sold all over the world.

Joining RSPO since the foundation-2004
The Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil is an international organisation founded in 2004 to promote the production and use of sustainable palm oil. The organisation does this by setting and enforcing global standards that the various stakeholders in the sector can use.

Tiger Paste - 2000
Observing some bakers applying specific spices to the bread they produced, CSM got the idea of developing a paste to apply on bread to easily enhance its flavour and appearance: tiger paste concept was born becoming soon a big success in the bread market

Artisal, Masterline, MeisterMarken and Ulmer Spatz are Acquired — 2000
Artisal range of sweet ingredients in France widen CSM artisanal portfolio in the area of fine pastry. The acquisition of Masterline in Italy adds innovation, quality and versatility to the margarine and pastry ingredient product lines. In Germany, MeisterMarken brings its reliable and reputable artisan products in margarines, fats, fillings and toppings with solid heritage dating back to 1859; the addition of Ulmer Spatz positions CSM as the true expert in bread ingredients.

CSM Acquires Marguerite — 1998
Marguerite, founded in France in 1919 and dedicated to revive authentic flavors and quality for the artisan, adds premium sweet ingredients to CSM portfolio. Stablofour Raspberry Filling With Seeds, Royal Miroir Chocolate and Pralin Croquant are among the many exceptional products that have stimulated pastry chefs’ creativity and inspired them through the years allowing Marguerite to become an iconic brand in France and around the world.

National Doughnut Week started in 1991. It is a annual week-long celebration of doughnuts, sponsored by CSM Bakery Ingredients. NDW raises vital funds for The Children’s Trust, the UK’s leading charity for children with brain injury.

Waldkorn® the Original - 1989
Ever since the start, Waldkorn® has always guaranteed the craftsmanship and authenticity of the traditional baker. The very first bread - the Waldkorn® Classic - appeared on the Dutch market in 1989. Mother Yeast - 1980
CSM Ingredients has been the first mover in the natural “mother” yeast industry on the market. In the 1980s Braims, leading brand in Italy, was the first company to set up and patent the unique technology of dried mother yeast with the development of Naturvi-s, a mother yeast produced according to the traditional method of “rinfreschi”.

Kick off Fruit Filling Business Goes - 1950
In 1950, Carels fruit filling business was founded, starting the journey that lead to the establishement of CSM hero brands in the artisanal market like Fruffi (premium fruit filling with pieces) and Jelfix (premium fruit glaze) and to the development of unique solutions for the dairy, non dairy and ice-cream industrial market.

CSM started out as a domestic sugar processing company in the Netherlands. The company's original name was Centrale Suiker Maatschappij (Central Sugar Company) lending itself to the current name CSM.
